Interview 7/27, No updates since (SLC, UT Office)
I had my interview July 27th, 2021, everything went well, the interviewing officer was pretty friendly and told us he needed to request my DACA documents before reviewing my application and said that might take two weeks. I haven’t heard anything since and my case still shows “Interview was completed and my case must be reviewed”.
Does anyone know how long that usually takes? is that pretty normal?
thanks in advance!

I did my interview 2 weeks ago (still waiting on approval). Im also DACA since 2012. Never heard of the IO having to pull out previous DACA documents before....Maybe they are making sure there was no lapse between your renewals?
Since its been over a month, you should call them and ask about your case. I know theres a 120 days rule, but my lawyer and I are planning to call at the 1 month mark if no decisions on my case.

@JJ JJ - So is you case showing the same status? I asked in a Facebook group about it and I think the IO was requesting an FOIA, which I’ve heard should have a record of any entries or deportations so, I guess they want to make sure I have legal entry. It’s been almost two months for me and when I’ve chatted with them they just say it’s still within a reasonable time frame and there’s nothing they can do. Maybe I should call them.
I ended up reaching out to my Senator instead and they’re looking into it. When does your EAD expire?
JJ JJSep 17, 2021
Mine still says "Interview scheduled" even tho I had mine Sep 1st.
My EAD expires next June
Yeah I guess 2 months is technically still reasonable (under 120 days) Interesting point about the FOIA, bc usually the burden of proof falls on the beneficiary. Maybe your IO knows he would get those FOIA results faster on his end.
Did you submit a copy of your i-94 when filing for the i-485? Bc that would be proof of legal entry
Joaquin VelascoSep 17, 2021
That’s interesting, normally the case will update right after the interview.
I think that’s what is holding up my case, my mom lost my I-94 so I sent a copy of hers for reference and my visa/passport that was used to enter. I imagine they want to verify all that.
My EAD expires next month but I got a notice from USCIS saying that they’re extending my current EAD 180 days so hopefully that gives me plenty of time

Yeah I know I’m pretty worried :( I’ve been seeing ppl who are stuck on “interview scheduled” even after interview, have been waiting months for approval.
Ah okay, it makes sense that he is tracking down your I-94 to confirm legal entry. Good of the IO to do this himself and not send you a RFE. Hopefully he can get that info soon and approve you.
I once did a FOIA for my mom’s whole immigration file and it took me about 4 months to get the documents. But I assume your IO has some privileges to get info faster than that.

Yeah I've seen people stuck on that status for months but everyone's case is different, we're so close that really any day now it could just change to "card is now being produced". Hopefully soon though.
Have you tried reaching out to your Senators or congressmen?
I haven't heard back from mine since last week but they're trying to submit an expedite request for my case.
