Inquiry for safe travel with combo EAD
Last month, I received my EAD card with the I-512 Advance Parole endorsement. However, on my USCIS portal, the status of my I-131 (travel document) application still shows as “received,” with no updates yet.
I’m planning to travel abroad for 1.5 months. Is it safe to travel with just the combo EAD card? My visa stamping in my passport expired last year but EAD is valid, so would I need to get it stamped again before re-entering the U.S.?

I’m in the same situation as you, my combo card was approved about a year ago and it still says “Case was received…” on the USCIS portal. I've traveled abroad several times since then using my combo card (EAD + Advanced Parole) while waiting for my green card and have always returned to the U.S. without any problems. Each time, they simply direct me to a room where I receive a stamp upon re-entry.

@P. N.. Thank you for your message. I am also planning to travel soon using a combo card and I have been feeling a bit apprehensive since purchasing my ticket.

once you have a valid combo card you are good to go

Respectfully speaking I would not encourage you to travel abroad for that amount of time. a week or two yes but a month in a half you may have a problem getting paroled back in.
