@Onyema, this period,it is very difficult to dismiss removal proceedings and I heard they also stop administrative closure. What your lawyer should have done during the master calendar hearing, was to inform the judge that you have a pending VAWA with USCIS and therefore, the merit/individual hearing should be moved further to two years instead of next year March which is just around the corner. Moving the individual hearing date further will give you ample time to get your VAWA approved with USCIS. If your VAWA is old and it's at the verge of being approved before next year March, then you should wait but if not approved before the hearing next year, your lawyer would have to let the judge know so he or she can postpone the individual hearing to a later day. When your VAWA is approved when in removal, you can file adjustment of status to the judge or the court and send a copy of the adjustment of status form to the Texas service center that processes I 485 receipts for people who are Adjusting in court with an immigration judge. @Onyame Ba Tumtum ahof3 if the VAWA is not approved before next year March when you have the individual hearing, your lawyer can ask the judge that day to postpone the hearing that you guys still waiting USCIS to process your I 360.
