income requirements for sponsoring parents
Hi, I have a question. Can anybody please explain the income requirement for sponsoring parents to the united states? If only husband and wife live together and both are earning, then how would you determine household size? I know information is available online, but I am not getting it. If anybody knows the answer, please share. Thank you!

One more question whatever the income requirements listed on the uscis website, it's gross income, not the take-home?

I thought it was gross income and I got an RFE asking for joint sponsor because there were a huge difference between the gross income and the take home income.

no no if I can help … in my case my husband file the tax only for him. I was still living outside of the USA. But for 2021 he will add me on his tax return even if I’m not working yet. so in your case it is not a mariage based green card so I don’t think you have to. However it may be easier to gather the household income in one. You should ask your tax preparerz
