@Miracle victory keep believing. Mine took 35 months but God did it. I finally got GC approval a few days ago.

@Miracle victory I submitted I-360 application august of 2020. RFE for good moral character February of 2021, biometrics April of 2021. Sumbitted I-485, I-131, I-765 applications in December of 2022. RFE for previous divorce decree in February of 2023, VAWA approval April of 2023. RFE for medical May 2023 which I submitted in June. I-131 & I-765 approval July 13th, I-485 approval July 27th.

@Fel84 B what documents did you initially submit as proof of your abusive situation when you filed your application?

@Jesus baby mainly text messages. He was verbally, mentally and emotionally abusive. When he started becoming verbally abusive during phone calls I would hang up and that didn’t sit well with him so he started texting. Everything you have as proof that the marriage was bonafide submit it. Receipts of anything you bought the other party, but what’s most important is a very strong affidavit.

@Fel84 B thank you, so did you submit your affidavits alongside your application? or did you get an RFE for those?

@Jesus baby I submitted my affidavit, ticket confirmation that I booked to go see him as we lived in the same state but different city, receipts of all the gifts I bought him, pages upon pages of text messages, emails you name it. I submitted everything that would consider evidence that proved the marriage is bonafide all at once.

@Jesus baby the only RFE I had gotten in regards to the I-360 application was to submit a copy of my previous divorce decree as I was married years ago before him. Har my lawyer submitted that as well I would have gotten the approval from February of 2023 instead of April.

@Fel84 B That’s true, if you had submitted your previous divorce decree you would have gotten the approval earlier than April, looks like RFE’s tend to slow cases down 🙁. I was watching numerous videos on YouTube and there was this particular lawyer who said “Less is better” on a vawa case, and that submitting too much evidence at once is bad 😩she said if a tired or lazy officer comes across the case and isn’t ready to go through 500 pages of evidence, he or she might just issue an RFE instead of searching through evidence to see that you submitted what he or she wants to see lol. so that was funny but at the same time enlightening

@Jesus baby yes I saw that video you mentioned as well but I didn’t really give it much thought as I had started my process way before I saw it. I’m not even sure if my lawyer has ever done VAWA before, she’s a great immigration lawyer but as for VAWA not so much. If I wasn’t watching the other VAWA lawyers lives, I wouldn’t even have know that because my daughter was under the age of 21 when my process started, once she’s listed on my application then she would be approved as well as my derivative. When my lawyer was doing the I-360 application she did put my daughter’s name and such on it but it was after I watched the live and was aware of that I reached out to her and that’s when she told me to send her a copy of my daughter’s birth certificate for her to submit & it was shortly after the submission I got approval.

@Fel84 B oh I see, so your daughter was approved also? Congratulations 🎊, @ me when you receive your green card in the mail. Has it been produced yet?

@Jesus baby yes she was approved as well but she’s in another country so I have to do an I-824 application to have her case transferred to the NVC in that country. Yes production of the greencard started a day before i I got the GC approval. Will definitely let you know when I get it.

@Jesus baby thank you. I only did 1 biometric from 2 years ago. They applied that one to those applications.

@Fel84 B funny story, I got my biometrics appointment for i485, did that, 2 weeks later I received another bio appointment for i131 did that, got my combo card approved and to my surprise, after receiving my combo card none of the photos taken during those 2 biometrics were used, they instead used my passport photos I had initially attached to my applications, crazy! and I looked better in any of the other 2 photos I took at my biometrics. I’m really hoping they don’t use this same passport photo on my green card cos I didn’t look too good in it 😩😩

@Jesus baby that’s weird. They had sent another biometrics request to my lawyer’s office but they also sent a notice that I didn’t need to do another one. Then they applied the old one to all applications. Thank God your combo card was approved though. Mine was approved recently too, so that’s another card I’ll be collecting from my laywer’s office tomorrow.
