I864 Joint Sponsor
Hi All,
I’m about to file I864 with a joint sponsor, and want to check if the income on tax for year 2020 matters because it was below poverty:
last 3 years income as below:
2022 made 80k
2021 made 60k
2020 made 21k

This is the joint sponsor’s income? If so, I’d recommend a different sponsor.

all you need is 2022, yes they say 3 yrs but actually you only need the most recent.

You’re fine with this joint sponsor. The year that matters the most is 2022.

hope that should be good as I hope they take coronavirus into consideration for the year 2020… I’m in the same both and waits for over 6 month for a respond to my RFE for affidavit but I didn’t use a sponsor just my spouse and 2020 was low too @DJ S

@DJ S 2022 looks good as it is the most recent years, but if the joint sponsor has more than 8 person in his/her household that can be bad, ie, if they have kids who they claim on tax, their spouse and themselves, talk more to your joint sponsor to all the facts because the last thing you want to get is a rfe when you can prevent it from happening.
