I824 fillow to join (spouse of eb3 green card holder)
Good day!
I’m terrified with the responses and i would like to confirm some information.
i got my follow to join approval after 2.5 years and it was longer than we thought but we were still happy. after the approval we called to confirm regarding welcome letter. uscis said we cant contact them until 90 days so we were waiting but in that period we got a hold of congressman who were very positive and said he is going to help us. he emailed nvc. first the person in nvc were asking us what is i824..? and informed that they do not process this forms. then after explaining everything he ask to send i140 receipt number as he was completely blank for i824. when we sent them the receipt they said they cant find any approval. and ask for i797 and my attorney said their is no reason for asking this as i140 is approved in uscis what is the purpose of asking the approvals one by one!?
I’m so so mad now. a person who literally have hold to reunite the families who are waiting to see their spouses and children dont even have basic information? this is how they process the case? i know 2 people who are waiting for more than 1 year just to get welcome letter from nvc. who to call who to blame? help please!!

try to follow up with uscis. check your online account and see if it says sent to nvc.

also, this is your attorney responsibility to find out what's going on with your and if it worth it to keep waiting

if you have an approved I 130 and you didn't notify uscis to send your approval to nvc that's a mistake right there, you need to file 1 824 for uscis to send your approved I 130 to nvc which cost around $460 and could take 6 months or more for approval , hope this helps

@fk fj our attorney is just not helpful. we email her every week to request and work on it and try to find anything about our case. I’m sad no one’s care about anything.

@Eagles fly if a person gets his green card by eb3 category, skilled worker and the person is already married before getting his green card. his spouse needs to file only i824. its a follow to join process and we dont need to file i130. yeah this information is very new for many people.

same here. I filed i824 only without i130 since we got married before I got my GC. I recently filed it 2 months ago and still waiting approval. I can understand how frastruasted it is seeing NVC people being ignorant and seems like you’ve done every approaches you can do. I hope everything will be fine.

@liza ali I am two years and two weeks already and still have to wait to get to nvc. one year for i130. due to a very sample mistake I had to file i824 which is will be one year of its processing soon. I am so tired of this too.

even uscis. i chat emma. the agent didn't know about follow to.join. they asking me where is my i130. i said what the heck pls review all the forms to your office.

that’s exactly someone in nvc said. they have zero knowledge about this and they freaked me out

Hi @liza Was your case solved? I am in the same situation. My I-824 follow to join was approved 2 months ago and no welcome letter received yet. NVC inquiry said to redirect the inquiry to USCIS. USCIS asks to wait 90 days just to submit an inquiry. Not sure what to do.

good day I really don’t know where to turn just came from work and can’t sleep. so I filed vawa 2020. I got my GC 2023. also filed for my two kids my daughter was here so hers was adjusted status. my son live in my country my lawyer filed I824 he did not filed i130 Friday i824 said approved today it say request more evidence have anyone received request for evidence before it so what is

my case is approved and after 7 months of approval i got my welcome letter and after a month i got documentary qualified but unfortunately in my country waiting line for interview is too long so im just waiting for my interview
