USCIS errors are getting worse by the day it seems. Generally that message meant your green card was approved, but I guess it could mean anything these days. Smh

now that they have reopened all cases they might take their time to get back to those but atleast there is some update. We now know they have started working on our cases. Also, I think when they come back to our I-765 for people who are current they will probably approve their I-485 directly and later terminate I-765.

@shakshuka 94 I hope this is going to happen but why reopen them. I read to reopen a case you should submit a for for motion but I didn’t do anything so not really sure what is happening but I’m hoping it will change again this week for that. thank you 🙏

@MJ B - Same I didn’t request for motion to reopen. It can be a mistake. As in may be a new person would have mistakenly approved cases or a system glitch. So basically they backtracked updates to all cases between a certain date range. It could have been very time consuming to go one by one and check all cases rather they backtrackerd for the full batch and now will only work on current cases for I-485 and for others they will work on I-765. There was no need for them to look into people who are not current. Just my assumption. Please keep everyone posted with new updates. I will do the same.

@shakshuka 94 I hope this is what exactly is I asked my lawyer and she said she would not know anything until we receive the notice itself. so I hope what you have mentioned is what actually happened. let’s hope for the best and keep an eye for any updates I’ll post here once I get any updates. thank you for sharing your thoughts.

@MJ B - sure thing! I am very sure that notice will be useless. It would not explain a lot. First one will say I-765 closed cz I-485 is approved (which is not the case). The second one will say we are reopening your case as there was a mistake and will keep you posted with new updates 😂. Let’s see. Fingers crossed 🤞

No notice received. Not sure what is happening. I just checked bunch of cases which were updated on 21st with Case Closed status has the same update as ours “Case Reopened” with today’s date.

@MJ B , Go through EMMA and ask which service center my case is, it will give you option to chat with Live agent.

@MJ B - Did they say something about expeditious processing? As this is a USCIS error, can we expedite our applications? Not sure how much time they will take to resolve all of this.

Hi @Raj veer No, I just called them as I mentioned earlier and all they have told me that there is an issue with the system and the cases are still processing normally. any update from your end.

@MJ B No apart from one in the morning that “Case was reopened”. On my wife’s application, we just received update that her EAD / Combo card has been picked up by USPS.

Hi @Lior Nevo if you got it in your hand it won’t matter whatever the change on the case if you physically got it. so hopefully nothing will change for you and keep up the positive vibes.

But the issue is, how USCIS processes the cases, no one knows. I have seen cases applied a month after me have already been approved. Don’t know if it is Application date, PD date or combination of both.

In my wife’s case, on 13th “New card is being produced” 15th Approved. 21st Card was mailed to me 24th Card was picked up by USPS (With tracking info) No update after that but through tracking we knew we were suppose to receive it today but it will be delivered tomorrow. No update

@MJ B Thank You. I assume so. It is taking 15 days from the day of “New card is produced status” to getting the card.

@MJ B Correct it went to approve next day and then after 7 days, status changed to “Card was mailed to you” then after 4 days it got changed to “Card was picked up by USPS” and it had tracking number.

@MJ B @Raj veer - Very variable. for current people they have been approving i-485 directly. they did not do for us. So I think atleast a month or 2 more but I hope something happens and we all get before end of this month. Special prayers for everyone!!!
