I730 follow to join asylee banned after travel ban
my husband filed an i730 follow to join asylee case for me to join him. I went to the interview August 13 and my case was denied due to 212(f) president travel ban proclamation. Does anyone know of any cases that were approved after the travel ban? also if anyone has a FTJ-asylee case from travel ban country can we connect?

@Ash ela did they put you administration process??? or just simply officer said it’s denied???
i lAug 14, 2025
@Ash ela this is incorrect. asylum is exempt and technically you are not applying for non immigrant visa. i think he mad a mistake unless something has changed

the officer asked me all the questions, regarding our marriage, it was straight forward then told me because of the presidents proclamation and travel ban they cannot issue my visa at this time. No administrative processing. I told her my petition is for follow to join asylee she said yes V92 and checked at the computer then proceeded to say yes it is part of the travel ban. I asked if she would wait for any guidance from HQ in DC she said no.

@Wise Man thank you, this is for Preference Category Primary Visa Applicant (F1, F2A, F2B, F3, or F4) not FTJ
Aug 15, 2025
the officer is wrong ,you have to find a lawyer to help you with your case, you are not applying for nom immigration visa
Wise ManAug 15, 2025
@Ash ela contact them I heard they are doing FTJ too.

No! @Ash ela, I don’t think it’s because of your country was baned, Asylum was exempted even me my country Sierra Leone was part of the partial visas banned countries ( Non Immigrants visas categories) and when I asked my law firm that helped me with my Asylum case if I’m affected like if I want to bring my kids, they said no I should be fine

@Foday Mansaray lawyers said that in the beginning but are now changing their statement after people started going to the interviews and getting rejected for the travel ban. Your case may be different because it’s a partial ban but I’m from a fully banned country,
