I693-RFE (Medical)
Can applicants from EB1A category who didn’t submit I693 along with I485, comment on their experience on how long it took for them to receive Medical RFE after biometric appointment?

@piku@9: That’s almost more than 4 months. seems like I have a long way to go. I finished my biometric last week only.
piku @9May 13, 2021
Might not be. There is no trend so nothing matters unless and until you have it.

Why can’t you guys interfile your medicals? I’m not EB1, but all lawyers are advising to interfile and not wait for an RFE.

@NK: I did ask my lawyer about the same but he didn’t encourage. he said that they will either let us know the address where to send the medical or will confirm the interview where we will have to take the medicals along with us.

I don’t think it is a good idea to submit unless USCIS ask for it. It can’t accelerate the case but high chance of getting lost in the piles.

@piku: I am not even sure if you could send the I693 at same address if it is not submitted along with I485 packet. But I do agree with you.

Medicals are a must! No one will receive a green card without submitting them. Without that you will most definitely get an RFE. It might not accelerate your case, but if an RFE is issued then your case will most definitely get delayed! No matter what anyone says.....RFE....adds time to the case processing. Most lawyers at this point will tell you that with EB1 interfiling won’t hurt! It will only prevent a trigger of an RFE. Rest it’s up to a personal choice. Vega, ask your lawyer if you interfile...will it hurt? I’ll tell you that the answer is “most definitely not!” If the file is complete then that might even waive the interview. Also, if you do send it in, you will mail it to the same place where your 485 application went. Make sure to “interfile” though.

rfe means USCIS looked at your case and everything else in place. So getting rfe is good sign. Even in USCIS site it is recommended to bring I-693 at interview or when asked, if not submitted with I-485. At least my lawyer suggested me to follow the same

@NK: If that’s the case I will send my lawyer an email asking about it. Thanks for the information as I really didn’t know about inter file

tq Vega ... did you try interfiling option

@Nirmal c: I asked my lawyer and they suggested me to wait and told that the chances of it getting accepted and added to your cases are less than the rumored 50%. As per them most of the time it gets lost in the ocean of other applications. On top of that you don’t get any receipt number for same. Lastly, if you interfile coz you are current and soon you get RFE then you will have to send them the new medicals as they don’t accept the inter filed one. So, after giving it a lot of thought I dropped the idea of interfiling. I am just getting my medical done now and will keep it ready so that I can respond to my RFE quickly.
