@N Vj Hi, actually the next process is to do the application at NVC, consulate and they'll give us an interview date. I'm not sure how long it will take, my attorney said it should be less then 2 months.

@N Vj Hi, just got a email from my attorney. He said it's taking a year to get the interview. Is that true? Is there anyway I can check the waiting period for Mumbai consulate

what I heard was its taking 3 to 4 months from my lawyer..

@N Vj yes, my husband had his interview, it was a nightmare. The consulate put his case on aadministrative processing. I'm glad I had a surgery in usa, so I came back to USA to schedule my surgery here and submitted the documents to consulate, in a month time he was able to get his visa for his green card or otherwise he'll be stuck there for months.

why they put his case on administrative processing..?

@N Vj I have no idea why they did that. He had all his documents available at the interview, they did it without any reasons. The paper they gave him it said: the case is under administrative processing, we'll let you know when to submit the passport. His interview was at 7.30am and he was done at 11.40. It took so long. There were so many people, it was just like fish market.

We are married for 8 years plus have kids together, there were no reason for them to put in administrative processing.

@Sofia Singh anyway it endup good that he came back...so what if some one doesn't have a medical emergency....? it's so frustrating

@N Vj if someone doesn't have an emergency, u cannot do anything. Just have to wait, in some cases it takes 6 months or years. I have seen so many videos on tik tok about this matter, you cannot do nothing. I forgot to mention one thing. My husband had a case back in 2012, it was dismissed and he wasn't guilty. He was never even arrested. The consular was mostly asking about that case.
