Hello Goodmorning I apply July 20, 2020 haven’t heard anything as yet are you still in the US waiting on your decision or you left?

i received receipt notice last year on last week of July 2020. haven’t received biometric notice yet, have been 9 months now.

My wife is in the same situation. July 22, 2020 H4 to F1 COS. Vermont. No word on the biometric appointment yet. Please do update the post here if and when you hear about biometric appointment.

i tried expediting multiple times. Even via congressmen. nothing helped. weird thing USCIS applied biometric towards my H4EAD but not towards my H4. i have tried all the suggestion, every advice in the book. nothing helped. even sent medical bills that i need to pay. proof that i am facing difficulties in paying rent, DL has expired. i lost 2 job offers. but till date have not received Biometric appointment.

I am sorry to hear that @rrhy girl. I got a job offer too and really worried about losing it if I don't hear from them in a month :(

why would some one move from H4 to F1. i thought you could attend school, while being on H4.

Yes, we can attend school on H4 but cannot work. Sometimes we need to do an internship as part of the curriculum and F1 is required for that.

@MB p, yes, I will update. Please let me know about your status too.

@SP - but cant you apply for H4 EAD and that way you can work even in the first year of your studies.

The status is still the same.. waiting! @sgupta: No, H4 EAD can be applied if and only if your I-140 (employer based green card application) is approved

I’m also waiting at TSC..I filed in July 2020, had bio in April..but no update since then. they keep increasing processing times. I’m also concerned I’ll lose my job offer- but getting expedite approved is so tough

Yes Aastha, the timelines increased to 14 months☹️, did you tried to expedite request for your job offer? Hope we get some update soon!

Exactly. But H4 to F1 is so tricky, I’m not sure they appreciate you have a job offer on F1.

I have applied in June, 2020 but still haven’t got an appointment for biometrics yet. I had to move between states and change addresses twice in this last 14mos. Do you guys think that changing addresses is causing delay in my case. I am afraid I have to move again so.. Can someone please suggest

just got approval for COS. RD July 23, 2020. vermont. biometrics August 20, 2021. decision September 9, 2021. asked Sen. Warren’s office to expedite based on financial loss. not 100% sure if it was senator’s office that got it done or if it was normally processed.

@MB p did they ask for any document proof for financial loss when you raised expedite request?

@SP Do you get approval for now? I filed H4 to F1 on Dec 5th, 2020. Took biometric on Oct 4th, 2021. No results until today. The official timeline has become 15.5 ~ 20.5 months.
