the introduced new roule in july 2021, if you changing from b2 to f1 you don’t need to bridge your stay with extensions anymore, your first application to change of status will be considered as permission to stay until the final decision comes from uscis , that was a great help for us and the immigration department to reduce the workload for them and the cost for us . but the question is ( after this long time of waiting is the chances of approval is high or after spending thousands of dollars while waiting on my stay I can easily get rejected!!
