I485 Approved on the spot 🎉🤍
This app has been incredibly helpful with understanding timelines and reading about the experiences of others. I want to pay it forward so here’s my experience. As for what evidence to provide and how to get creative with evidence, this thread has been my go-to-resource: https://www.immihelp.com/forum/adjustment-of-status-i-485/178298-links-evidence-of-bona-fide-marriage-for-i-130-i-485-filing-interview-tips FO: Bedford, NH NBC Receipt date: 30th June, 21. Questions asked: To petitioner: How did you meet? When did you meet? Who proposed? Was there a ring? Spouse’s birthday Does your spouse have siblings? If yes, tell me their names. Spell the name. What do you like to do together? Tell me an interest that you both have that wouldn’t be in your application How many cars do you have? What is the make and color of the car? How many bedrooms and bathrooms in the house? To spouse beneficiary: Spell out your full legal name Do you have a nickname? What visa did you enter the country with? What is your birthday? How did you meet? Who proposed? Was there a ring? What was the wedding date? Where was the wedding? How many people at the wedding? Have you met your in-laws? Tell me their names. What are their ages? Does you and your spouse have siblings? If yes, tell me their names. What do you like to do together? Tell me an interest that you both have that wouldn’t be in your application? How many bedrooms and bathrooms in the house? Do you have a car? What is the make and color of the car? Spouse’s birthday Have you ever had a J Visa? Is this the only address you have lived at together? Have you worked in the US Illegally? Have you tried to get a GC before? Do any of you have children? Is this the first time you are being sponsored for the GC? Has anyone sponsored you before? Have you ever stood before an immigration judge? Have you even had any deportation charges? Other standard criminal, drug, trafficking, etc. questions. All yes or no questions. Interview experience Our appointment was at 9:25 am. We got there at 9:00am. We did the security check, took the elevator to the 2nd floor and dropped our interview notice into a box at the check-in window. We had a female USCIS officer who popped her head out as she walked the person before us out into the waiting room. She said she’ll be with us shortly and went back in. The couple that just finished their interview were talking about the wife now being official as they left which was reassuring. The USCIS officer came back and asked for my medical I-693 which I handed her. My husband got called in first at 9:36 am and went in with our counsel. He came out in 20-25 minutes. He seemed really cool when he got out but he’s unfazed by most things. He shook me and said good luck in a scary voice lol. I was then called in alone. She said the pic from biometrics was a really nice one and said “you go girl!” I took the oath and then was told they need a picture and fingerprints for ID. I gave my passport as ID. She asked if I had any other ID. I said no. She was firm but friendly and was looking at the screen most of the time. The computer was lagging and slow and she kept asking it to work and yelling at it throughout haha. In the end of the interview, she asked if we have any evidence to show – I gave her a whole evidence binder for her to keep. She said now I’m not gonna scan these (probably due to her computer issues). She flipped through the whole binder and started typing on her computer. She used my table of contents for reference which made me happy. She then asked our counsel if he’d told us about i751 which was great to hear. He said he usually tells clients after and she can tell me about it if she wants to. She said we should get the card in 1-2 weeks. She said our evidence binder was wonderful and to keep adding to it to show after 2 years. She then asked if my name was on the mail box lol. I didn’t know what to make of this and said no we only have the house number. She said I suggest that to avoid having the GC returned, I would tape your name on the mailbox since you didn’t change my name. If it’s returned, you gotta wait 3-5 months! She complimented our evidence binder again and asked if I had any questions. I said no and she walked us out to the waiting room. Mistakes: I said 3 bedrooms instead of 4 – we don’t use one and I just forgot about it – silly me! Hope this helps. Good luck to you all! PS: Status is yet to change in the system.
