i485 Approved After interview (vawa)
I initially file i485, i130 September 2018, got first interview on Aug 2019, file 1360 on June 2019 and hold my 1485 interview in abeyance, got i360 approve Aug
2021 and two weeks later my attorney write a letter to reopen my i485, and no any update on my i485 until March 2023 that I got an update that my i485 is now scheduled for interviews
before USCIS could schedule me for an interview my attorney wrote them twice and no update, then my congressman wrote them once and I was able to get an update last year June 2022 that they would schedule me when they have available date, and finally I write the white house two months ago using the request form below and to my surprise I was scheduled for interviews a month after🥺

diana_new johnsonMay 23, 2023
@Samuel Aye, I have tried sending them a letter via the link shared, but unfortunately it is not working now for some reason.
diana_new johnsonMay 23, 2023
Do you think you could check if it is working for you? After i entered all the fields, and I entered the actual message to the president, then I am getting a message on the screen saying there was an error sending my request. And it does not allow me to send it. There are no errors on the fields, everythting is correct, it just does not go through now for some reason. I tried yesterday several time and today as well, same result :(
diana_new johnsonMay 23, 2023

@Samuel Aye, did you receive the same type of response from dhs? It sounds like no one can help me with my case and i need to email vermont center... :(

I believe everyone would get a good news soon, don't ever bother to make inquiry yourself or through your lawyer, The Best alternative is your congressman or the white house using the above link
diana_new johnsonMay 30, 2023
thank you guys @Samuel Aye and @Tom Cruse for the kind words and giving hope here. I hope so too, we all get happy news on our cases.
Interestingly to note, the title of the email... i wonder if that is just meant a deadline for them to respond to my inquiry .. or make a decision? who knows :(

@diana_new johnson brother don't loose hope they will surely do something it's tells you your case is still in Vermont
when did they aproved your i360
diana_new johnsonMay 31, 2023
hi @sub suba. They approved my VAWA in November 2022. Since then nothing else, my i-485 which was filed simultaneously got updated to fingerprints applied, and that all, no update since then. I do also have a pending U visa petition .... it is pending since 2017. not sure if the delay approving my i-485 is because of that. I asked my lawyer, and they said that it does not, new i-485 is getting approved based on VAWA and it should not be the reason for the delay.
Hercie PMay 31, 2023
@Tom Cruse i did email the White House about my I/485. how long did you get a response to your email?. after I emailed them it’s pop’s up Thank you for your submission… right now i just hoping i can get updates for my I/485 its been over 5 years this is too much it’s killing me more truamatic🥲🥲

Hi @Tom Cruse, I am good. Just waiting. No news, no changes on my status for i-485. Not sure what else to do. Will wait for the month of June and mid July, and if nothing comes then will file for mandamus. Will just give them 45 more days. The response I got from the USCIS is just weird...it is not assuring me about anything. Not sure everyone got a response like that... or if that could be related to my pending U visa.. again not sure whats going on here and why I still have a delay.
diana_new johnsonJun 5, 2023
@Tom Cruse yes it could be related to my U visa pending. Asked my lawyer, she says it is not related to it lol. I wanted to withdraw that U visa petition but not sure how long that will take and still need to pay to my lawyer to do that. I just dont want to have issues with the uscis if I file for mandamus.. i dont want to make them angry with me and start questioning my stuff...
diana_new johnsonJun 5, 2023
@Tom Cruse, when you submitted the inquiry to your congreesman/woman, did you receive any letter/email from them? Letting you know that they received it and sent an inquiry to the uscis? I also sent them two letters by mail, and one letter through their online form for contactings the cogressperson.. but got nothing from them. not sure someone looked into it or not, or they just tossed it away.
diana_new johnsonJun 5, 2023
hi @Tom Cruse, yes, that would be great if you could email me his info: you can send it here please: bashimovajemal28@gmail.com. I will try to contact them and see how and what they needed for it.

Nik NellyMar 1, 2024
@free life Thanks much!!! I continue to pray and trust that God will shift the tide in my favor
diana_new johnsonApr 28, 2024
hi @Nik Nelly. My case is resolved, yes. I got my green cards in hands last week. The WH was not helpful, congress peopler here in Florida were not helpful, and sending letters to Vermont office was not helpful. I had an approved VAWA case but i-485 was pending since March 2021. I filed for Mandamus with my lawyer - and three weeks after that was filed in court - my lawyer got a letter for i-485 interview here in Miami office. I went there by myself, they asked only i-485 YES/NO questions, and nothing else. I was done in 15 mins, and my case status updated 2 hours later to New Card in Production. And the next day updated to i-485 case approved. Then we closed the mandamus case once i got green card in hand. This journey is closed for me now!!! Good luck to all of you still waiting, you are almost there.
