per chat gpt What “Administrative Review Process” typically means USCIS is doing one or more of these: Final background/security checks FBI name check fingerprint validation other interagency checks. Supervisor review Sometimes the officer must send the file to a supervisor for approval before granting the green card. Quality control review Random or targeted quality assurance. Verification of information Employment verification (common in EB-3 cases) checking immigration history or documents. How long it usually lasts Typical ranges seen: A few days to 2 weeks → most common outcome before approval 2–6 weeks → still normal 2–3 months → less common but happens if additional checks are needed Many people see this status right before approval.

This does happen and it is not necessarily a red flag. When USCIS tells a congressional office that a case is in ""administrative review,"" it usually means additional internal checks are going on, things like background or security checks, or final employment verification. The tough part is there is no set timeline for this stage. Some cases clear in a couple of months, others can sit much longer with little to no updates. That said, the fact that USCIS gave that response rather than flagging something missing is actually a good sign. It tells me your case is still active and moving, just under a closer look. For now, stay in close contact with the congressman's office and be ready to act quickly if an RFE comes your way. Hang in there!
