There is no binding requirement for USCIS officers to contact applicants within a specific timeframe after a service inquiry, and “30-day callbacks” are generally customer service estimates, not enforceable processing deadlines. Case adjudication continues based on eligibility review, background checks, and officer workload rather than follow-up communication timelines. If your priority date is current and there are no RFEs or NOIDs pending, the absence of a callback does not indicate a problem with your I-485 case. USCIS may continue processing internally without external contact until a decision is made or additional evidence is required. Practically, the appropriate next steps are to monitor for official updates (RFE, interview notice, or approval) and, if the case exceeds posted processing times, escalate through a service request, and if that does not get your case moving you may request a congressional inquiry.
