When my I-485 was denied I filed a I-290 on Nov 9, 2023. That in turn was denied on Feb 5, 2024. Both the denials were ridiculous, the reasons stated showed that they did not even look at my case properly. So we filed an appeal with the DHS Ombudsman and my case has been reopened last week.

@V Thomas Congs for the reopened! May I know if the i290b was processed with Vermont Service Center and how long it took for DHS to process the request?

This was with the National Benefits Center. We received the I290 denial notice on Feb 5 and my attorney contacted the Ombudsman within the next few days. The case was reopened on Feb 20

@Gc 0321 Same here!! I didn’t receive any access code and I try to contact USCIS about the issue but the site is down. My lawyer said they cannot help to expedite my case… Btw, has ur law advised you stay at US?

@V Thomas You mean your 290b regarding 485 was denjed again? what can we do if 290b is denied again? DHS ombudsman was that meaningful to you?

@Quickly Done Yes. After review the ombudsman ordered USCIS to process my portion and my case was approved within one week after the order.
