I131 (advance parole) expedite request taking more than 1 month to process, what can I do?
Hi everyone,
I filed an expedite request for my I131 more than a month ago, and still no updates. My mom had a medical emergency, she’s no longer critical (she was a month ago!), but the situation is still very serious, and I desperately need to see her. We all know what it’s like to have elderly relatives back in our home countries - anything can happen at any time. I’ve been beating myself up about not having been there when she needed me; what if her condition deteriorates and I’m too late?
I read here that there’s a way to make an appointment with an officer who will adjudicate the case on the spot. I’ve tried to figure it out, but the Emma agents have been beyond unhelpful - either they won’t transfer me to an officer or they tell me such a process doesn’t exist, that the only thing I can do is continue to wait and be patient. I know, to these people, we’re just numbers in a system, but this is personal to me and I’m starting to feel very down about it.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? Any advice?

@teetee fabulous Yeah, it really feels that way. Again, I get it that to them I’m just another applicant in the system but these documents have such an influence over our lives, it would be great if they could just take a step back and acknowledge that. I am grateful for my work permit and for being able to stay in the US with my husband, but I do find it difficult to accept that these people can restrict my movement and ability to travel. Also, like everyone else, I actually paid for that document, which makes it all the more frustrating!

@Denise K I've been making posts don't know how you haven't seen them. I'm really frustrated though because I need to travel to see my family. I think 10 months to approve an i130 is long enough😫 bit I know our day is coming by God's grace 🙏🏾
