I was sure to travel with Advance Parole with pending VAWA. I recently had a conversation with a new lawyer. He is telling me not to travel. Anyone arrived to JFK recently with pending VAWA/AP card?
I don’t have any criminal background, I haven’t over stay. I485 is pending, I360 is pending with one prima facae. AP card will expire on November 8th 2023 I’ll be back on October 15th

lawyers love telling people not to travel. you will be fine. i had bad anxiety about traveling that i went to a field office to ask if it was ok & they said yes as long as the case is pending and the card is still valid

@JoJo JoJo did u already travel ?
Ivan bSep 12, 2023
yeah I traveled once when I was still married and my I-130 and I-485 was pending. at that time I assume my VAWA application was not arrived at USCIS. Now I received the denial for I-130 and I’m divorced. I have pending 485 and 360 with one prima facae. @JoJo JoJo @journey fellas

@Kanye East we all got the same anxiety traveling with ap . but I heard from whoever traveled on ap the safly got back to states . i booked my ticket to . u should gota go head nd beet your anxiety .
Ivan bSep 12, 2023
@Kanye East what exactly this mandamus is? I feel you with all that anxiety:( when CBP office corrected LPR sign on my passport the officer told me that my AP is good to go. but I advise you if something happens at the airport I don’t recommend to tell you that USCIS officer told that it’s ok right away because the CBP officer has all the right and the only decision maker, so if you make an explanation like that, he will probably be like, oh yeah? who said that? ok you can’t come in, go back to your country and let’s see if you are good to come. @JoJo JoJo

@Honore paquissom Do you have pending VAWA and your AP is based on ?
Ivan bSep 14, 2023
I’ve just read this on FB group I think we are good to go guys lol
“Have used AP 9 times now. Have traveled to Colombia, Panama, Spain (3 times) Mexico, Argentina, UK and France. Have never had an issue returning back to the US (CBP actually tells me welcome home each time) Still have my I-485 pending. If you have AP previous visa issues are no longer in consideration if your case is pending.”

@Ivan b yes pending vawa and my AP was issued under it. that fb post makes me feel better, thanks for sharing

if your record is clean I don’t see the problem about traveling, my lawyer suggested better if I don’t but I traveled on advance parole 12 times in the last 5 years while waiting for my adjustment, never had an issue
m mSep 15, 2023
they always sent you to secondary since they need to check your documents and sometimes they just ask simple questions
C MSep 15, 2023
@Ivan b so the AP doesn't have limits on how many times you can travel right?
Ivan bSep 15, 2023
@C M as far as I know as long as it’s valid you can travel limitless time
Andrea ThompsonSep 21, 2023
I travelled through MIA using my AP without i360 being approved. you should be fine.
