I recently received an approval for a standalone EAD (5 years) but I submitted for a combo card renewal. Can I request for a combo card with the new EAD card?

no. they give you EAD so you can work and contribute to paying taxes. your AP might get approved later or your GC will get approved so no need for AP. keep fingers crossed
