not sure where you live but you need to give them original notice of automatic extension and they will do that. A lot of employees don't know about this. Ask for a supervisor

@Mrkvica M. same thing happened to me. DMV refused my automatic extension, then I tried a different location and they didn’t accept the automatic extension letter as well. I asked congressman to help me ask USCIS to update SAVE. After congressman Inquiry, a few days later SAVE was updated with extension and Combo card approved. Hope this helps. Goodluck!

@Sam Cole yeah, i had similair situation. Employee had no clue, I spoke with supervisor, it took them like 10 days to check me in SAVE and I got my DL renewal

@Hopping Soon i am not surr if rules are different in Texas than in other states, but I would recommend you to go to big DMV office and ask to speak to a supervisor.

@Hopping Soon I’m in Houston as well. they gave me a tough time. perhaps try renewing a day after the EAD card expires and hopefully the automatic one goes into action

I went to dmv in Atlanta ,the lady said she will give me 4months and I said no,I have an extension and it’s supposed to be 500 something day,she said ok let me check and I got a longer time frame of expiration.i will go to another location and try again.

@Sam Cole i went to different DMV today she said she can't renew bt she putt me on 2nd verification process, on Save ,you know how long this process take or anything i have to do for that process?
