@ravinder Singh thanks for sharing
when you came back to the USA, did cbp ask you why you’re traveling on your country passport? or they don’t care?

I would say no apply for RTD protect your status,… they aren’t our friends

No, it is not recommended. If you have asylum in the United States, you should travel using a Refugee Travel Document, not your country’s passport. Using your national passport may create problems and could affect your asylum status.

funny part: many people I know usually use their country passport no problem, I used refugee travel document twice last few months and I always sent to secondary inspection because travel document doesn’t have a chip and have to be verified manually most of the time. they don’t ask any questions, they’ve been always friendly to me, but still 😂 using your home passport welcome back to US using the refugee travel document let’s go to secondary 😂

@ravinder Singh did you become a citizen already?
A KMar 5, 2026
@Green Card Approved yeah I wonder if using RTD is worth it, I was sent to secondary twice.
A KMar 5, 2026
@God Is Good I think you can use COP but it’s preferred you use RTD.

@A K well good part is no visa required with rtd to travel to Germany, Netherlands, Belgium. Slovenia, Slovakia (someone told me yesterday they went to Poland, switzerland as well, he said they checked rtd and thats it)

as far as I know there is no restriction for using your old home passport. but you can’t go your embassy to apply for new home passport.
