I-90
Hey! I recently got my green card approved and got it about 2 weeks later. However, they made a mistake. They used my maiden last name instead of my married one 🙄 and yes I filled all documents with my married last name and sent marriage license. I even got receipt notices and other mail from them with the married last name and then BAM! Has anyone had any experience with this? I hear the wait time for them to fix their mistake (to send back new card after I-90) is very long.

correct, Gigi. leave it, no need to make yourself crazy. when you apply for citizenship you'll change it then

@gigi kmn @Green buzz yeah but it’s recommended to have the same name across all documentation and because of their mistake on my green card I don’t. it could lead to questioning while traveling or applying for jobs and I can’t deal with that.

it would not lead to questioning during traveling. you only travel to the USA with a green card, you don't show your passport
Noe CFeb 26, 2025
@Green buzz they don’t ask for ID when one travels at all, just green card ? that seems sus 🙂

@Noe C Ma'am ask your lawyer. But I personally don't see an issue here. As long as your GC shows your first and last name you should be fine. Good luck!

@Noe C yes, when one travels back to the USA as a Green card holder you just show your green card not passport.
