first of all i wish you a good luck submit everything back no mater if you send them just send everything back but thats exactly what happend to me they send me rfe and i send them back and then 75 days they denied my i485 and am waiting the denied paper today but my i130 is not denied yet so just seed it very well and do what you have to do then give it for god

I got RFE being in the same situation as you. prove your joint sponsor status I submitted it online as a pdf. but I hadn't sent them her Birth cer. etc.. once I applied

@Tom D, was your RFE for Affidavit of support as well and did they give you the reason for denial?

@sam mete: I have not responded to the RFE yet. I sent everything together by mail. Once my online account was created I saw that some of the documents are not scanned by the USCIS. I thought that's not important because some people said on this app that they also don't see any of their scanned documents online. I sent the joint sponsor's passport, but not her birth certificate. Are you saying that you didn't send your joint sponsor's birth certificate at any point? Did you send any documents showing their status during the original filing? because I did send them her passport.

passport works too. well I had submitted my joint sponsor’s driver's license picture when we applied first. other than that We submitted everything about her. I thought they would proof her status just because she is a retired police officer but however, they requested. I don't think they scanned all paper on website where you have an account. I didn't understand that if your wife has a enough income why would you require to add a joint sponsor too?

@sam mete: Thanks for your response. Yes that's right, I'm so worried and surprised because I don't understand the reason. My wife is not currently employed, but she has enough assets to satisfy the requirements. I have a job with enough salary to qualify too but it seems that they just ignored my salary. I foresaw that there might be complications and included a joint sponsor who makes more than 200K a year!! I included her passport bio page. After all of this I am still getting an RFE!

Is it possible that they just lost my documents?

it doesn't matter how much you make. even if you make 300k a year, you are not American. looks like your wife’s income is not enough too. that's why they just wanna make sure everything is clear.

what does letter say they sent? prove your joint sponsor’s status birth certificate passport etc,, is that all?

It could be that including all the assets and my income on the forms confused them. However, I still don't understand why the joint sponsor passport was ignored!

normally it shouldn't be. the letter they sent was saying prove one of them. either they couldn't find it or they wanted to request by knowing. I don't know what is your Priority date

The letter starts by saying: Based on the documents submitted, we could not determine that the petitioning sponsor, XXX, on form I864 is qualified. Then explains in length about the general requirements for income assets and joint sponsors. Then it says: The joint sponsor, XXX on form I864 must be a United States citizen, etc. Submit evidence of the joint sponsor's status. Evidence may included: Birth certificate Bio page of passport etc So it seems like they have my I864 forms even though it doesn't show in the scanned files.

In your case your only problem is to submit proof of status? That seems easy to do.

I got the same letter too. I think they review cases in person that you sent. I don't think they submit all documents to the website.

My main confusion is what is the purpose of these scanned files? It makes sense for the lockbox to send only the electronic files to NBC and then send the physical papers later to the local field office. But that means if the person scanning the documents in the lockbox makes a mistake or misses some documents, NBC will not be able to see them. The RFE that I got though shows that they do have my i864, which means they must have the physical papers at NBC since they are not scanned.

they transfer to another service center your files after checking. all you have to do is don't waste your time and submit what they want. because RFE delays timeframe. I told you its been 45 I submitted evidence, still no news.
