I-824 vs I-130?
Hello, I'm a green card holder and am trying to immigrate my spouse to the US. Our marriage occurred before my employment based I-485 approval.
I have 2 paths to immigrate my spouse:
1) File I-824 Follow To Join
2) File I-130 ( F2A second priority category)
In terms of processing time, which path would be generally shorter?

@N R, are the Processing Times for both forms super not reliable? That’s what I normally use to see how long I’ll have to wait

@Brian thanks for your response. It's difficult for me to estimate I-824 for 2 reasons: 1) I'm not sure which service center processing time I should be looking at (according to USCIS instructions, I need to mail I-824 to Phoenix AZ lockbox) and 2) I-824 is used for several purposes. I'm not sure if the processing time on the official website is indicative of how long I-824 Follow To Join would take.

I am in the same boat. I am thinking about filing 824. I was told the application would most definitely go to NBC and should be approved in 3-4 months.

@NR i824 follow to join filing center is based on ur i485 filing center . if i485 filed in nbc the.n i824 will be filed in nbc

follow to join F2a backed up and facing delays especially if you at a busy embassy
