@Abu Chowdhury My case has been sent to the department of state(nvc) & I already received case creation & invoice number. I have paid the fees too Alhamdulillah. I filed I-824 on Jan06,23. After waiting so long I decided to contact senator again & told them my case is outside of normal processing time posted in uscis website 12 months for texas.Because last time I contacted senator in 9 months uscis mentioned i’ll get the decision within the 12 month timeframe posted. but my case almost 13 months so I let her know then she made the inquiry again on Jan05,24 & now it’s approved yesterday & case has been sent. I suggest try contact your senator again & explain your situation it will help you Insha Allah. Otherwise try to expedite it might get approved since I see your timeline you never requested for expedite.

@Allah Greatest well my case is in potomac theres no time mentioned in the wbsite. I dont trut that congress man since they couldnt do anything with my case just waste of time. I went to an immigration attorney they said i should wait at least 18 months before requesting another inquirty or expedite. i dont know i am just in a puzzle. i have done so much and tired. 😭. may Allah make it easy for me.

@Abu Chowdhury okay brother based on attorney then I’ll say you’re very close to 18 months. I know how does it feel I’ve suffered a lot went thru a lot depression but I keep pray to Allah & finally he gave it. So I’ll say keep praying & don’t lose your hope Insha Allah your good times almost there!

@javeria alam f21 green card. but im now usc, i called them to update the category but i was told there is nothing they can do with this since it is approved already.

did you send the copy of your citizenship certificate with letter that your are now usc to Potomac? @Abu Chowdhury

@javeria alam no my i-130 was approved. i-824 is based on i-130. i sent multiple letters as well as my copy of certificate but they said they can not update it. This is a terrible process. They literally do not care unless they wish to process otherwise it will sit there forever.

@Abu Chowdhury Same here brother. Im waiting as welll in POTOMAC Center. 11 Months now. No Update No news No decision nothing. All they told me, your case is in the line to be reviewed by a USCIS Officer please give us some time. Like 11 month is not enough???? These people dont care???

@Dayanul karim @owais . @Parvez Alam i have done all the possible ways to let them make my case move forward, nothing worked, look like they literally dont care 😔 never knew one silly mistake will cost me 18 months of delay with no movement. totally frustrated , hopeless

I also requested an expedite and when they ask for reason I explain “humanitarian”, coz of my mothers situation. they said I’ve untill the 19th and Potomac center should send me a decision of my expedite request.

@Parvez Alam can u share the process how to expedite, i have the same reason of my mother she has medical issues as well.

so I called the USCIS customer service number from there after they verified me they can see I’ve done numerous amount of case requests/assistance/service requests. None of them were properly solved/answered. I told the guy one week ago can I request a expedited for my I-824, he said sure you can. he said can you let me know which category does your request falls under? he read me a list of categories and I choose humanitarian coz my mom is a breast cancer patient and explained how hard it is to take care of her while I go for work 8 hours a day so having my wife would be helpful. he then submitted the request to POTOMAC Center and said you should receive a decision of expedited within 3 days but 3 days were passed and I called customer service again she said you have untill 19th, if Potomac still don’t send you email if expedite request got approved or not then give us a callback. this is what so far happened @Abu Chowdhury

Quick Update on my USCIS Profile for I-824. This morning I noticed a different status showing in USCIS Profile. It shows the below sentences.. Correspondence Was Received And USCIS Is Reviewing It "On February 29, 2024, we received your correspondence for Form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition, Receipt Number ***********. We are reviewing your correspondence, and will send you a notice if we need something from you."

@Parvez Alam i have the same status showing since 13 months ago. i sent physical letter to my service center to request them transfer my case to NVC. I guess when they received it they updated it but after that i has been a total of 17 months still the same status.

you have to remember my status was that original status for almost a year... this is totally different and new. I really hope they are actually doing something this time

Hello, Processing timelines by USCIS for I824 has been updated with Potomac service centre as well recently. It's 16.5 months now... I am waiting since 10 months with no update😔
