My case was updated with this same phrase just now. from what I read it means that the I-485 was approved so we don’t need the 765 anymore, but my 485 status hasn’t been updated yet.

it happened to me too but I don’t think it is GC approval since I’m not current

My PD is current till July end.

my PD is current, and last week the 765 and 131 of my daughter was approved, today was send to my mailed! And today I received this update for 765 of my son, and my I-140 is approved since august 2022, my husband, I and my twin’s daughters received our work permit in may of 2023! that’s why I believe that there is anyone making something in the process of my family! anyone thinks like me?

exactly the same with me. there’s no chance my GC can be approved as my underlying i140 is still in progress. I’m very curious as to what this message means. I sent my expedite documents to them yesterday

I got the same message, my wife too and I’m the primary applicant, my I140 is approved since last year and my pd is feb 2022

I only got this for my husband yesterday and not on mine. I am the primary applicant. there is no clue what’s going on the case or the system. also my pd is sep 2022 , and have been waiting to get EAD since 4 months after filling 485 in March 2023

I got this same status too yesterday. today they updated my status to “ reopened for reconsideration”

My daughter and I got the same message yesterday but today, my daughter's changed to 'reopened....' but mine is still the same.

My case status changed to reopened for Reconsideration.

Thanks everyone for your comments. please keep on sharing your updates. I connected to USCIS regarding this. they confirmed that this was an error and my case is undergoing review. It’s probably the same for other folks who got similar status update.

@Saheed Lateef has your changed? I am primary mine didn't change but my wife's changed to reopen

@Tafi Fita mine also changed later yesterday. In the whole of this, I can only conclude that it was an error from their end.

My wife's case has the same status as the derivative applicant(Closed Case), while I am the main applicant. My EAD status still shows "Fingerprints were already taken". Our priority date is March, 2021, which is current, and we filed for AOS three months ago, including the medical exam. We will wait for the upcoming days or notices in the mailbox.

@giddy up and @Tameka Hastings - is your Priority Date current? Just trying to understand the trend. I think they are approving EADs for people whose priority dates are not current and they might approve I-485 directly for peope who are current.

seriously confusing! it said - we ordered your new card. then the status changed - Case reopened…

same thing happend to me my status changed from “New Card Being Produced” then today to “Case Reopend” I submitted my I-765 on Feb 3rd.

@ashok silwal it will be hard for me to believe even if the status says ‘card is being produced’. USCIs is probably going through system maintenance or updates and these status are randomly changing. my status changed from ‘ordered new card’ to ‘case reopened’ most recently…

@Bhagirath Ghimire Same thing happened to me, my status currently says “case reopened” called USCIS and I was told the card was approved. Today I got a confirmation from USCIS via email that my “expedited request was approved” and the card is on its way. So hoping it’s the same for you!
