Feb 4, Potomac. No updates. Lost my job a week ago. Submitted two expedite requests, one got denied, the other one has no updates. Reached out to both a senator and ombudsman - no response.

I’ve read a lot of cases in Reddit getting approved with RD from the end of January

I heard about early Feb cases two weeks ago.

march 4, 2021 with potomac. submitted expedite request on Jan 11, no response. my congressman submitted another one two days ago still nothing. I had a chat with online representative yesterday who submmited subsequent request which he said will give me priority and told me to wait 3 to 5 days for a response. so far I have no updates, just many many pending requests

it takes like around 2 to 4 weeks for them to reply about the Expedite

Updates: I submitted another expedite request though my congressman yesterday and got approved today!!!! After 2 denied expedite requests!!!

@Z M congrats!!! were these 2 denials through congressman as well? My congressman submitted on Monday to Potomac but I still have no news

1st one over the phone with a tier 1 agent, took them a month to reply. Received an automatic response saying it was denied. 2nd try was through congressman. Took them around 2 weeks to reply and that one got denied as well. I reached out to my congressman again (4 days after USCIS response) and they raised another expedite request yesterday and got approved today!

I also reached out to senator (raised expedite request 3 weeks ago but never heard back) and reached to ombudsman 3 weeks ago but they told me yesterday that they have a backlog as well and they haven’t been able to reach out to USCIS

Yes for the second try I included supporting letter, bank statements only (no cover letter). But after that I lost my job because my extension expired. This time I drafted 27 pages with more evidence and a more in depth explanation of my circumstances

I see, I included letter from employer, bank statement, rent screenshot, utility expenses, student loan interest expenses, proof that I sold my car because I wasn’t able to amke the payments. I really hope it will work I’m desperate

oh wow, congrats on the approval. I submitted two requests to California senators yesterday, no response yet. my congressman sent the expedite request this Monday to Potomac — hope to hear back from them asap. also and out-of-processing-time request was submitted by me on Jan 21, but I haven’t heard back on it as welll.

this is just awful. I am in severe depression now. just had a conversation with my boyfriend about the whole situation. feeling so bad as I am hopeless and see no purpose in everyday life at the moment.

we’re in the same timeline! I also haven’t heard from CA senantor and my congressman submitted expedite request this Monday and still waiting. I feel the pain, I’m a straight A student and it’s my last semester and I’m already so behind my classes I can’t concentrate or think about something else except for this work permit

Yes the situation is very stressful. But hopefully your congressman will be able to help out with your requests. Takes them up to 4 weeks to hear back. And yes it’s frustrating and depressing…and overwhelming to be checking on the website every 5 minutes

@li ha I received an email from my congressman and attached response from USCIS saying expedite request was approved and 2 hours later the online status changed to card is being produced

do you know if uscis offices work on Saturday? I know contact center does but not sure about case processing officers

Thank you!!!! I hope yours is next. Officers work from Monday to Friday but I asked today over the phone and they said sometimes they update the status late and you could see an update on Saturday morning

i just called the ombudsman’s office and they told me that my case has bern assigned to an analyst and that means that it’s almost guaranteed that they will contact uscis. do you know how long after this I will get news?

you should hear back from the ombudsman via email first, I think. once you receive an email you should see a status update within a day or so. that’s what happened to me
