I-765 Application for employment Authorization
I applied for opt on March 23rd and received RFE on May 23rd. Therefore, I submitted my RFE Response by June 3rd.
Now the thing is that my F-1 status grace period ends by July 5 and I haven’t heard back from USCIS after submitting the documents for RFE. I understand their processing times might be too long but since my grace period ends I was worried.
What shall I be doing on this case?
Please guide.

but I believe as long you have a pending opt case with uscis, you are in valid f1 status.

@dek zeke I did talk to her and she said that i should be receiving an approval within my grace period or else i will loose my status

@dak zeke I tried calling uscis but they never transfer call to agent it’s so frustrating. i will try to chat with emma though

@dak zeke thank you. I was able to talk to them and they said that I would lose my status if I don’t get my ead within my grace period which is 2 weeks from now.

@dak zeke, it says the expedite request might take minimum of 15 days to process the request and i barely have 2 weeks remaining.. would that time be enough?

also when i had called uscis they told me that i do not fall under that category just because of my risk of losing my status

I am in the same boat, I got my RFE May 22 and replied online June 2nd, waiting for their response…
