I-765 and I-485
After completing my biometrics on November 4, 2025, I noticed that within an hour, my I-765 moved to Step 3 (Case Decision) and my I-485 jumped directly to Step 4 (Case Decision), skipping Step 3 (Interview Completed), suggesting the interview may have been waived. From your experience, does an interview waiver usually mean that the FBI and DHS background checks are cleared and the case is straightforward at this stage? Also, is it possible that some cases are pre-reviewed before biometrics? ###

@MST Kamrun Nahar For employment based, your case progress jumps from biometric completed to case decision after your biometric appointment, That doesn’t necessarily mean you are waived for interview. When your biometric checks are completed and the results of your biometric is ready for review, the adjudication officer may request for additional evidence or interview if USCIS needs clairity based on your application or biometric results. If everything is ok, then your case would be ready for review and case decision.
