@Rocco Forté why did the divorce take that long? i am suffering in my situation and idk what to do and i am waiting for my medical rfe hoping that my case can approve because I can’t take it anymore, my spouse just walked out of my life and no contact for many months

@um ch I live in a state where you are required to be separated for a year before you can file for divorce. Also, if you have an I-130 and I-485 case then you have to be married before those can be approved.

@Rocco Forté that’s awesome! hoping mine goes the same way! my divorce isn’t finalized yet, unfortunately! hopefully will be in the next couple of weeks, and then I will post the decree to USCIS. My office location was Potomac.

@Angie J It will go well. Don’t forget to add a cover letter requesting to amend your jointly filed case to a waiver. Also add evidence from the day of filing to the day of separation.

What if you’ve submitted all evidence you had when you submitted your I751 case? what other evidence can one provide? did you have to resend all the initial documents you sent to uscis again when sending the divorce waiver? @Olawumi O Hi Olawumi, you should have additional evidence gathered from the day you filed till today. Those are important because it shows you continued living together in martial harmony after you filed.
