I-601 pending after interview denial
I’m just wondering if anyone else has gone to an interview and had it denied because of the I-601 and having to wait. what’s that process like? is there anything I can do to speed it up?? we have some family events happening and we don’t want our family member missing it..

My husband was denied in Juarez bc he needs the 212 & 601. We filed both in 10/2025 & both still just say “Received” status for 1.3 years today. I’ve met with our lawyer many times but all that can be done to “expedite” them processing them is if we have “extreme circumstances” which is very rare. I’m hoping to get some type of update sometime this year. From what I’ve seen/heard, they’ve been taking 2-3 years to be processed unfortunately

@Lucy Gracida my dad was denied in June of 24 bc of the 601 and his lawyer basically dropped him after that saying she did what she could. we’ve been wrecked without him. I’ve been trying to figure out what is deemed under those circumstances I only see special events but what do they think is special enough you know? like his first granddaughter his having her quince and he’s going to miss it… my joint sponsor has cancer too what happens then… just so stressful

@Elizabeth Z I would say either a diagnosis like cancer or something like that. It’s up to the officer that denies or approves his case
