same thing happened to me sometime they said my case in field office and some time say nbc 😔

they do same thing to me . first time they said my application was in boston field and then another agent told me my application still in NBC so I check my receipt number online it's said my application still in NBC... so I don't know who said the truth

Keep in mind that the process works like this: when you submit your application, it's sent to the National Benefits Center or a similar center for a complete check and FBI fingerprinting. Once that step is finished, they send the file to the local office nearest to your current place of residence, even if you've moved. The transfer to this local office means your file is ready for a decision, whether that involves an interview or a direct approval.

It is better to stay where you are, as changing your address will transfer your case to the new field office. The local office covering your area must make the final decision, as the officer needs to be in your jurisdiction to decide directly or schedule an interview. I think you didn't quite understand, but the USCIS is telling you the truth.

its not a bad sign for you . my i 485 approved from field office , then my son approved from diffrent field office and my wife green card approved fron nbc
