I-485 RFE from distant field office
I got my medical RFE last week from a Field Office in California, despite being resident in Texas.
Green Card is employment-based and was originally filed in 2021.
Has anyone else had the RFE from a Field Office that wasn’t their local one, and does this mean that my approval is perhaps only a few weeks or months away?
Hoping this is a good sign…

I don’t know how to share timeline, but I filed in April 2021, had the biometrics in October 2021 and then the RFE last week after the case was transferred to the NBC in February.

I live in CA and received my RFE from Missouri field office.

it’s really a good sign. I live in Chicago and got RFE from LA. After reponse to RFE was recieved, my I-485 got approved without interview

Yes, I live Atlanta, when I sent my RFE last Friday while I'm in Washington now. Today, I Gotti decision early morning. God is good

may 2020 filer TSC. case was moved to NBC march 10th. the case worker at the Congressmans office near me called NBC to see what's up and they found out my case was also being moved to Los Angeles field office for adjustication (i live in Miami) so very far away. the case worker said NBC told them they do thatt now when they don't require interview or else it would have gone to your local FO.

i have the same timeline as yours, i also received an rfe today from miami fl. my case was also transferred from texas to nbc in February

My case was transferred from Nebraska service center to National Benefits Center in February. A month later, I received RFE for Medical exam from Los Angeles Field Office. I live in NY. Based on what I have read, it may be a good sign, because there is no interview and they are faster in approving cases. Fingers crossed.
