I-485 Question
One of the questions on the i-485 asks if you have ever worked illegally in the U.S. Well my husband worked in the US while being illegal, but he paid taxes, and was never paid cash or in secret. Seems like a trick question and we’re not sure how to answer it. Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance! #i-485

@mortimer Do you think answering “yes” then will affect his visa negatively?

the answer is yes they will over look it because your a citizen and if he came here on a visa there's waiver for that he don't have to go back home to complete application

it won’t affect it negatively… tell them the truth. I’ve seen someone who was using someone’s else green card to work and uscis found out and still approve his application. they don’t care about that but take it seriously when you lie to them
