I-485 pending
USCIS said that this can that a few years to get your I-485 approved. I wonder if after 1 year of working for my sponsor. Do I have to continue to work for them? If not, can I go to school and be a full-time student?

unfortunately, once you use your EAD card, your previous visa (assume F-1) became invalid. You can not go back to school nor school won’t accept you as their student due to your immigration status(485 pending is your status) You can stop working for your sponsor under the risk of interview or possible I-140 and 485J revocation. You can change the workplace with similar job title(if new employer signs new 485J)

thanks for letting me know. why is it so risky just to get a green card?

@v tr the risk is if they send you a RFE asking for paystubs or interview. if you already had your interview, your case is pending, you should be fine leaving. honestly many ppl from my sponsor either left, or are taking a break, or are working just one day ok the week

@v tr just work one day per week. that's it. I would say do Uber, After 2,000 rides with Uber, you get full scholarship at University. I would say just enjoy the moment. Just find loophole to be happy, try to be more creative. I am doing all these right now.
