I-485 online
I was looking at the USCIS website and saw that you can file Form I-485 online. You have to upload the form as a PDF, and then it guides you through submitting the other required documents, such as passport photos, birth certificate, etc. I was reading on the same USCIS website that you can file Form I-485 online while you are inside the U.S. ( I already submitted the I-130 online, I got the receipt by mail in one week, it was very easy, I woukd like to do the same with the I-485) Has anyone done it this way?

@miry B Hi Miry, thanks for sharing the details — filing I-485 online can definitely be done if you’re inside the U.S. and have your I-130 receipt. It’s very convenient since you can upload your PDF forms and supporting documents directly, track everything online, and get notifications faster. A few tips others have found helpful: • Make sure your passport photos, birth certificate, and all supporting docs are in the correct PDF format before uploading. • Keep digital copies of everything just in case USCIS requests additional evidence. • Double-check that your address in your USCIS account matches your current U.S. address so notices aren’t delayed. One question to give more precise guidance: are you planning to file the I-485 concurrently with an EAD/AP request, or just the I-485 for now?

Both, But I'm still undecided whether to do it online or on paper because it seems that the online I-485 application is for employer-sponsored cases; that's the first option it gives you when you start filling it out. There's no option for immediate family members, so I'd like to know if anyone has done it online and didn't have any problems.

@miry B Family based I-485 is still on paper. What most people do is file I-130 online then attach the receipt notice to paper I-485 and I-765 (you have to file both concurrently to get the cheaper fee EAD card).
