I-485 EB2 Case at NBC – Medical Interfile vs Waiting for RFE
Looking for advice on whether to interfile medicals or wait for RFE.
Case details:
- Receipt: LIN219015XXXX (EB2-based, Nebraska → NBC)
- PD: Feb 2014
- Filed: Jan 2021
- Biometrics: Apr 2021
- Transferred to : Jul 2022
- 485J approved: Sep 2022
- Case went CRP due to visa retrogression (Sep 2022)
- Interfiled medicals once in Jun 2022 (not sure if still valid/attached)
- Reached out to Congressman office too.
- Raised SR recently → agent said case was last reviewed on Apr 14, 2026
- Case is still at NBC, no RFE yet, no updates since review
What I’m seeing:
- Very close receipt numbers (0157xxx–0159xxx) are getting:
- approvals directly (if complete), OR
- medical RFEs → then approval within days
- Some slightly later cases already approved
My dilemma:
- I will have new medical form in hands this week.
- Not sure if I should:
1) Send unsolicited medicals (interfile now), OR
2) Wait for RFE since case seems actively under review
Agent guidance so far:
- “Do not interfile, wait for RFE”
Would really appreciate input from others in a similar situation:
