I-485 at Service Center vs Field Office
Was wondering if anyone know how you find out when your I-485 has been passed from the service center (e.g. NBC) to the field office? Is the only way to find out to ask Emma on the USCIS website?

I think so. Most websites state that only if it’s transferred between service centers you’ll be notified otherwise you will never know. I called USCIS on October 14th to check the status of my application and the agent told me that my file was at a field office. I didn’t know until I called. She confirmed the same that field office transfers are not notified.

You can also ask your local Congressman to verify at the Field Office.
