then I just wait on them after that

Anyone knows what's the current i485 approval times? I heard some folks in EB1A are getting in 3 months.

I think I saw 62 days as the fastest for EB1A but most between 90-120 days. my lawyer said for EB1C he has seen 90-180 days (I’m EB1C filing under cross chargeability)

@Damo Tha, @B J, I sent mine submitted to Texas. Since I didn't include the electronic notification, I have been monitoring to see when the check is cashed. Did any of you see the USCIS update last week on X stating that it now takes 10-14 calendar days for applicants to receive receipt notices due to increased application? Isn't it obvious that they just made it up? We have been waiting for almost 20-25+ calendar days, yet not even our fees have been taken not to talk of the receipt itself. USCIS can do better and come out clean!

@Rijo Rijo I don’t think my attorney signed up for electronic notification for me either (I’m not sure). I have been doing the same thing with checking for the check to get cashed and at the same time talking to USCIS (Emma is terrible as it keeps losing connection). I agree, this is not a 10-14 day thing. They won’t even entertain proper checking of the status until it has been at least 30 days.

@Damo Tha, that is not good news for the lockbox. We just hope for the best. I didn't receive any check withdraw notification yet...Sad!

@B J, @Damo Tha, nothing on my side. I am tired of checking my account (even though I have automatic withdrawal notifications 😒) for the check withdrawal. Yesterday, someone with a 29th March delivery got the text notification. Probably, Texas is just slower. Fingers crossed something happens before end of this week for us!

@Rijo Rijo the applicant from 29th March was probably for another category. For EB I-485, it is only Texas lockbox. I have emailed the lockbox support team to ask the status. Their automated reply says they will reply in 30 days 🤷‍♂️

@B J, isn't the location to send 485 based on where (state) the applicant resides? Thanks for the update about the lockbox timeline

@Rijo Rijo I’m not entirely sure but I thought all I-485 for EB go to one lockbox https://www.uscis.gov/forms/all-forms/direct-filing-addresses-for-form-i-485-application-to-register-permanent-residence-or-adjust-status

@B J, from this link you shared, it shows that there are 3 locations where an applicant can send the i485 depending on where the person resides. Texas seems to receive the most number of applications based on all the states it is designated to accept the applications. Hence, we just have to wait for them 😄

@Damo Tha not that I know of. Everytime I have called they just ask me to wait and then I get this email today. I didn’t think a service request can help because the docs are in the lockbox and USCIS can’t do much until the intake.

I had called USCIS and they said they couldn’t file a tier 2 ticket as it had not yet been 30 days (2 days short). @Damo Tha how had you filed a tier 2 ticket?

@B J, is 30 days the max for USCIS to have processed and issued a receipt? Or is it just a time frame to open up an inquiry?

@Rijo Rijo what the USCIS rep told me was that when I call in AFTER (he stressed on this) the 30 days, it is up to the rep to decide whether to open a tier 2 ticket but most likely they will ask me to email the lockbox.

@B J, I see. Essentially, after 30 days, there will be more wait till the potential ticket is open and resolved. Or at best, someone at the lock box 📦 processing the application.

@Rijo Rijo yes, that’s correct. @Damo Tha that is what I understand of the process as well. USCIS call center can’t do much as the lockbox is managed by a different team.

@Damo Tha, thanks for the explanation. I have heard people (for those whose application were returned for issues that have to do with payment failure) say that there were some barcode or sort of prints at the bottom of each form. This implies that USCIS started processing the application for intake but when the payment failed (mostly credit card payments), they stop and return the forms to the applicant. Hence, it guess that payment isn't the first thing they do.....but rather the last. Can you comment on this? Thanks!

@Damo Tha, thanks for sharing the link. I just read it but it didn't clearly state the order. However, it doesn't matter. Let's hope for the best.....your check has been chased, receipt notices will come soon. Remind me, did you include electronic notification?

@Damo Tha and @B J, please what mailing services did you use to ship your AOS package? I am just worried as I used USPS registered mail. The tracking says delivered but I am kind of concerned whether it was actually delivered.

@Rijo Rijo through USPS did you get a delivery notice with signature? if you have that confirmation, you should be good.

@B J, good question. I think I missed that out. In fact, I had always thought that tracking is sufficient......and the guy at the post office didn't offer that. I just have access to the delivery status via tracking that says Delivered at PO Box at 6:43am. Earlier, it was available for pickup before it changed to Delivered. Well, at this point, I just hope for the best.

@Rijo Rijo what date was it delivered? I’m sure you will be fine. if past 30 days, call and ask to speak to a level 2 rep. they can tell if it has been rejected for any reason. level 1 cannot see that information.

@B J, it was delivered on 27 March. Once next week is past n I didn't see the check cashed, then I will call. At least, I have given them enough time. Thanks for the support.

@Damo Tha @Rijo Rijo just spoke to USCIS. No receipt yet. Opened a level 2 ticket. The lady said the same thing - 6-7 weeks now seems normal because of a huge backlog. I don’t know about my check yet as that is from my attorney - who will get annoyed with me very soon if I check everyday.

@B J, true. But as I mentioned, the difference is that one has some as it is listed as a business unit while the other is just a post office box.

@Damo Tha yes, I am employment based. As of yesterday, my check has still not been cashed. But what you say makes sense. They put the people on family based to clear that and that’s causing a backlog on the EB.

@Rijo Rijo it makes no sense right now. Mine is under cross chargeability so I can understand they delay it because the person receiving the docs needs to check with his/her supervisor, but no information for 5 weeks is more than a little ridiculous.

@Rijo Rijo it could be that the checks have been cashed but my attorney’s finance team has not processed it yet. yes, they were willing to give it to me over the phone. the case status says “fingerprint fee was accepted”. Not sure if that means it has been processed.

@B J, sorry I didn't read your message well. So, the receipt number they gave you was for i485 correct? Did you include i765 and i131? Where you given receipt numbers for those too? When you said it is being processed at NBC, is it because of the first 3 alphabets?

@Rijo Rijo yes, for i765 and 131. No separate receipt number for those. I put the receipt number into this app and it said NBC (receipt starts with MSC)

@Damo Tha I used the receipt number and it just says that they only yesterday took the fingerprint payment. Not sure if that means there has been a full intake. I just read that all EB 485s are processed at NBC

@Damo Tha, thanks for the information. I am just wondering why yours is taking time as we have very close delivery dates. About calling USCIS, I got a hold of someone who confirmed that they mailed out my receipt notices last week. I was so delighted that I forgot to ask for the receipt number ahead of time. Fingers crossed they come in soonest.
