Conditional permanent residence generally has to be converted properly, and USCIS policy says conditional residents are not supposed to try to “adjust again” as if they were brand-new applicants; the proper path depends on whether the old conditional residence still legally exists, whether an I-751 route is available, and how the VAWA case was filed.
