I submitted my petition to the Texas Service Center in July 2024. Despite awaiting a decision for nearly seven months, my case remains "actively reviewing." Notably, I have observed that applicants who submitted their petitions after mine have received responses, even without Premium Processing. I would appreciate clarification on whether this is typical and how long it'll further take.

It is normal. you can go online to casestatusext .com and then use case tool, enter your case number and see if anyone in your block section has gotten a decision. I found it very helpful.

cases at USCIS are not processed in order despite what they are saying. NIW cases have been taking a very long time

it’s based on luck. Once you see the “actively reviewing” message, it means that your case has already been distributed to an officer for review. Some officers are known to be strict who look at all the details and find a ground for denial, while others are pretty lenient who will approve almost all the cases.

I’m in the 11th month since my application, and the status still says “actively reviewing” with no updates. My girlfriend wants to marry me so we can go through the family-based green card process. Would that be advisable?

@MIRZA MUHAMMAD AMIR I clicked on those who already got approved/denied and saw their timeline. Usually if they had their application reviewed (steps taking like RFE) were approved/denial within a very short time it is obvious they did premium processing.
