I-131 travel documents
I’m so confused—maybe someone has gone through this issue before. I’m having trouble understanding what’s happening, and USCIS weren’t even able to see my denial letter. On August 5, 2024, I sent in my renewal application for Advance Parole and my Work Permit because both were set to expire on December 8, 2024. In February, I received approval for my Work Permit for five years, but my Advance Parole was denied. Today, I received the denial letter, and it states: “A review of the record reveals that on October 1, 2024, you were issued a Deferred Action Parole Document at the time of your entry into the United States, with Form I-94 number [X]. The document is valid from October 1, 2024, until September 29, 2025.” The problem is I never received this document, and I never traveled on October 1, 2024. I came back from Colombia and on my passport I do see a stamp that said 10/1/2024 to September 29 2025 u.s department of homeland security vawa but I don’t have a paper or a card that said that only a stamp on my passport now am so confused that I don’t even know if I can travel

If you can see a stamp that says 10/1/2024 to September 29 2025, it means you still have an active travel document valid until 09/29/2025, and if you work permit says under it VALID FOR REENTRY then that’s your i131 and i765 was placed on one card which can serve as travel document as well.

@Abi Ken never got a letter saying that I have a renewal of my I-131 I only see it on my passport and on that denial letter

If you apply renewal early and travel with your previous valid AP the new one gets denial automatically. I’m not sure if you apply and wait until arrives before you travel in the middle @amor amor

@Ivan b well it always said to apply 6month or less for your renewal. like a mention on the post I sent my renewal on aug 5 2024 because it was going to expire on December 8 2024, I travel on sept 26, 2024 to Colombia for vacation and came back on Oct 1 2024. on Feb 2025 I received my work permit for 5 years and a today a letter saying that my advance parole can’t not be renewed because on Oct 1 2024, I was issued a deferred action paroles document at the time of entry to the USA with form I-94 number X that is valid from the date I came back from vacation Oct 1 2024 and it’s valid into sept 2025

your i-94 shows your legal visitor status is still valid, that’s why you don’t need i-131 (advance parole). should you overstay your i-94 and it expires that’s when you’ll need i-131 for advance parole. It shows your visitor status is valid until (i-94 expiration date) if you are unable to renew your i-94 and overstay your visit that’s when you’ll need to re-apply for the i-131 advance parole to allow CBP to parole you back into the US to finalize your immigration process. in short right now you are a legal immigrant if the i-94 expires and you are still in the US then you become an illegal immigrant. Only illegal immigrants require i-131. if you are legal then that means you visa (entry document) is still valid

it so weird 😂😂 because i was ilegal on the USA that’s why they gave me a combo at first and I went 3 time to my country with the combo because I had 7 years without seeing my parent now I renewed it but I can’t travel because they dined because of that🤦‍♀️ I can’t even travel now back to my country because they not going to let me come back to the USA

@amor amor renewal sent on August 5 2024 September 26 2024 traveled out of US so that’s the answer - you can get your work authorization but you can’t get your parole because you’ve been out of US while you were waiting for your new card. and I didn’t understand even if your parent is passed away why you can’t travel to your home country and how you know that they won’t let you be back to US?

@Ivan b that’s my question that I don’t know because I don’t have no paper work that said I can come back in to the USA it’s only on my passport that stamp and every time I travel they always ask me for the I-131 paper or card thing that I don’t have
