I-130(without I-485) Interview IN THE U.S.
1. My asylum application was denied and I am now on court proceedings.
2. With the help of an attorney, my wife file I-130 alone for me (I can’t submit I-485 yet because I have a pending matter at the immigration court.)
3. My question is: Will USCIS schedule an interview for my wife and I, even though we didn’t submit I-485 yet, before I-130 approval?

@Tayo O. I don’t think you will get an interview for the I-130 but you most likely will when you do I-485 because that will be to determine your admissibility.

@Rocco Forté it will be so irresponsible of them to call me for two interviews. one for I-130 and the other for I-485.

@Tayo O. Usually they do a combo interview in normal cases, that is I-130 & I-485 together. You filed a stand alone I-130 which will most likely be approved without an interview. I-485 is to determine your eligibility to adjust status in the US so they will most likely interview you for that.

@Rocco Forté but it sounds like @Harjinder Singh and @Motahair hossain attended interview for their I-130 case. I’m wondering which year was that. I don’t mind to attend an interview, but two is too much.

@Tayo O. Every case is different. I also know people in removal that got their I-130 approved without interviews.

@Tayo O. we filed on April of last year. Case didn’t change till May 20th last month and yestateday we finally got the interview update. in my opinion, they won’t approve us without an interview.
