I-130 LPR filing for child
I am a LPR and recently filed I-130 for my son who lives with me in the US, but cannot adjust status here. He is in F2A category, and will have to go for a visa interview back in my country. Can someone who has had a similar situation share their experience and the process pls. Are you required to do biometrics here? Are other documents needed to be filed along with I-130? I know a I-601A waiver needs a to be filed, when should I submit it?

under 21 unmarried child of US citizen parents can be adjust the status here without obtaining 601a waiver. Even if the child is out of status in the US. if the child has valid unexpired visa in the US then adjust the status here even if the child over 21

you have to become a us citizen before your child turns 21. otherwise child goes to consular processing !!

for us citizens is about 12 but for green card holders is about 24 months.
