I 130 for 6 year old stepchild of US citizen
hi,
just looking to see if anyone has applied for a stepchild after their parent has already immigrated. my stepson is 6 and we have submitted a petition for him. I’m just curious if they will actually want him to interview and how that would work exactly. would my husband have to go back and be there for the interview or would I as the petitioner? what would they ask a 6 year old?? If anyone has any experience with this I would love to hear about it.

I am in the same boat here so hoping to see others with farther along processes to answer. Though I think it depends on the country if they do interview for minors. Not too sure

how far in the process are you? we just filed the I130 in June so we still have a wait.

sorry i forgot i responded to this and never got a notification. we got through nvc documentarily qualified in july 2024 and now just waiting for the consular interview
