I don’t think you can. but you can try to apply for a K1 visa. then when he comes to the US, he can apply for i485 adjustment of status. That will make it convenient for him to get his status sooner and start supporting your family.

@Am Otieno thanks for the reply 🙏🏼 that’s what I thought but I was confused with some people posting saying they applied for all of them at once and it sounded like they were missing thier partners 🤷🏻‍♀️ but yes i did apply for both i130 and i129f

@Vero D the K1 Visa will no longer work once you have a pending I-130 the embassy will not give him a visa. When you complete the DS-160 there is a question related if you have any pending petition and you will need to say YES and by doing so you will need to document the I-130 pending petition. You will need to apply for the K3 visa. I have an approved I-129F for K1 Visa but I cannot use it because of my pending I-130. I even spoke to 2 lawyers if there is anything I can do to utilize it but the response was NO and if I do want to go forward with it I will have to attach a copy of evidence for filing for I-130 as part of the DS-160. Anyway mine was approved Aug 29 and still waiting on the NVC Hope this helps
