My friend who lives filed I-751 in January 2020 and filed N-400 in January 2021. He got interviewed in August 2021, it was a combo interview. He did his oat ceremony in September 2021.

You have to go with your wife. He went with his and they were interviewed together

They just asked they regular questions then walked his wife out and did his N-400 interview and test

when did you apply, I did my n 400 in August 2021 with i751 pending since August 2020. no interview yet 😔

Don’t change your name till you are completely done with immigration.

if you change your name during N400, it’s free. afterwards, you need a new certificate and it’s close to $600, not taking into consideration any court fees or other filings. changing your name during your N400 might push your oath back by a month, but it’d be way less complicated than afterwards.

I think you have option on form to Change your name on form. I think best time to do it at that time instead doing after oath ceremony and pay extra $600. n would suggest to contact uscis meanwhile to get proper procedure for that.
