I -130 F2B approved
I -130 for unmarried children over 21 filed in Jan. 2018. Got Receipt Notice the same month. Jan. 2021 got a RFE, responded and received by USCIS by March 22nd 2021. Decision ( Approval) on March 26th and case is now transferred to NVC for processing. The petitioner had done the application when was a LPR. We have written to USCIS stating that the petitioner is now a USC and we would prefer that the case remain in the same category F2 B. The case was updated to F1. Should we send another request once the NVC receives the case to have the catigory changed back?

i'm F1 too !
wtf my was filed September 2018 and USCIS has not looked into my case yet! how does that happen ?
Taya ShaversMay 21, 2021
@Randy where was your service center ?
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
@Randy Persaud i want to ask you something
Randy PersaudJun 20, 2021
ok sure. my center was California
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
@Randy Persaud mine too ! My category is F1 over 21 and we filed in the same year but USCIS has not approved my I-130. How did you managed to get a approval when you first filed you were F2B which is permanent resident filing for child over 21.
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
@Randy Persaud F1 processing time on USCIS is faster then the category F2B
Randy PersaudJun 20, 2021
after we sent my parents naturalization certificate I guess the processed it faster
Randy PersaudJun 20, 2021
our case now at NVC and send a request to get it back to F2B, and it was approved
Randy PersaudJun 20, 2021
but I am seeing now F1 priority dates Are moving rapidly
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
@Randy Persaud i need to be much faster than now ðŸ˜
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
so USCIS should be approving my case shortly, right? because I'm still stuck at the 1st step
Randy PersaudJun 20, 2021
they should have approved it by now, or are in the process.
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
@Randy Persaud my dad filed for me back in September 5, 2018. if you don't mind could you share me your filed date ?
Randy PersaudJun 20, 2021
it was Jan. 12, 2018
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
@Randy Persaud Thank you ! i might need to ask some more from now on. cause i got a dead beat dad😂
Randy PersaudJun 20, 2021
@ Tata Shavers - we have been in line since 2008, I was a derivative of my parents petition, and then I aged out. Even with CSPA calculation I was still over 21. My parents and other sibling migrated. I'm now in the line again.
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
@Randy Persaud oh so since the first time when you filed was in 2008 we're totally in a different category and you aged out. Have you heard of the Tier Priority on Travel State Gov ? i think your case in being a #1 prioritize
Randy PersaudJun 20, 2021
we are in the same catigory now. That previous petition has no bearing on the current on, I would think. But I did made mention of it when we filed again in 2018.
Randy PersaudJun 20, 2021
I haven't heard of the Tier Priority! What is it about?
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
@Randy Persaud Because of severe backlog on USCIS and NVC side the government so they broke it down to 4 tiers and the 1st one is prioritizing family-based cases child who aged out, spouses, and adoption categories
Randy PersaudJun 20, 2021
@ Raya Shavers - I just read up about it. No I wouldn't qualify under this.
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
@Randy Persaud really ?? how come ? am i missing something ?
Randy PersaudJun 20, 2021
those are for cases that already at the Embassy and waiting for interviews.
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
damn. then more waiting years for both of us ?
Taya ShaversJun 20, 2021
@Randy Persaud where are you living now ?
Randy PersaudJun 21, 2021
yeah, I'm in the Virgin Islands.
Taya ShaversJun 21, 2021
@Randy Persuad since when you start living in the US ? how did you manage to stay without officially getting a green card ?
Randy PersaudJun 23, 2021
I'm not living in the US.
Taya ShaversJun 23, 2021
@Randy Persaud i thought Virgin Islands is US territory
Randy PersaudJun 23, 2021

Taya ShaversOct 25, 2021
Alice Smith what's your story ?
Randy PersaudOct 25, 2021
I'm outside of the US. so I have to wait on my priority date. with all the back logs, visa bulletin wouldnt move for the next six months, at lease that's what I'm hearing.
Taya ShaversOct 25, 2021
ARandy Persaud yea same here😢we have years of waiting to go throughðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Alice SmithFeb 8, 2022
hi @Randy , did you any news from the visa center? did you pass your interview?
Randy PersaudFeb 9, 2022
@AliceSmith my priority date has not reached as yet. The visa bulletin has not move for my category F2B for the past 7 months. and is not expected to move until June or July 2022
Alice SmithFeb 15, 2022
Thank you for answering! Please update us when you get the visa center updated. I wish the best for you! My son is exactly the same as your case, and today for the second time, his USCIS status updated to Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS! I hope it will approve soon. is it any same experience? @Randy Persaud
Alice SmithFeb 15, 2022
Randy, what is the next step after my case approve? what should I do?
Randy PersaudFeb 15, 2022
@AlixeSmith After approval they will send you a notice of action and then transfer your case to the NVC.
Taya ShaversFeb 15, 2022
no updates for F1 category ðŸ˜
Alice SmithFeb 15, 2022
@Taya when did you apply for your case? Which year and center?
Alice SmithFeb 15, 2022
Thanks @Randy. How long it takes to transfer to NVC?
Taya ShaversFeb 15, 2022
@Alice Smith I didn't apply, my dad filed for me on September 2018 at California Service Center. I have been waiting in my country for at least 3 years now. My I-130 is still says "case is received"
Alice SmithFeb 15, 2022
@I'm sorry, I hope you get a new update soon. I heard that California center is so busy and cases take more time. However maybe it is a good idea to connect with USCIS and ask them sbout your case. By talk with Emma. Is your father resident of California? What does he do? Sorry to ask I only try to understand why your case takes longer
Alice SmithFeb 15, 2022
@Taya have you ever checked this website? USCIS timeline?
